Marquee Brands seeks a motivated, pro-active, and analytical Law Student to join its legal team as a summer intern.

TEAM
The in-house Marquee Legal Team partners with all brands and internal departments to provide risk management, legal advice, and strategic counseling in furtherance of Marquee Brands’ commitment to being a preeminent brand accelerator.
POSITION DETAILS
The Legal Intern will support the Marquee Legal Team with the day-to-day operations and management of 15+ international brands (e.g. BCBG®, Ben Sherman®, Body Glove®, Destination Maternity®, Laura Ashley®, Martha Stewart®, and Totes® & Isotoner®) while gaining valuable exposure to the business side of licensing.
Here’s what you will do here
· Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant legal issues to Marquee’s core businesses including intellectual property, policy work, and other related matters.
· Prepare abstracts and summaries of agreements and research findings.
· Assist with preparation of licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, letters of authorization, etc.
· Editing, proofreading, and redlining agreements, contracts, correspondence, and legal documents.
· Assisting with contract database maintenance.
· Assist with trademark clearance and intellectual property protection.
· Collaborate and liaise with internal business units such as Marketing, Human Resources, etc. on company-related projects and assignments.
· Collaborate with other Marquee interns culminating in an intern project presentation to executives.
· Attend at brand-specific meetings.

You’re going to need this to carry out this job
· Current enrollment in an accredited Juris Doctorate program.
· Strong academic performance.
· Coursework in intellectual property, contracts, or entertainment law preferred.
· Excellent research and writing skills.
· Very strong computer skills: Microsoft Office including Excel a must, Adobe Suite a plus.
· Must be a self-starter who takes initiative.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Advanced project management skills including the ability to simultaneously manage multiple initiatives.
· Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and creative environment.
· Strong attention to detail.

10 weeks starting June 3, 2025
Hours
9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with 30 minute lunch break.
Compensation
· Salary: $16.50 per hour
