Legal Intern
Dates: October 2024 – January 2025

Primary Job Location: Chicago, IL
Reports to: Director of Baseball Operations
Job Status: Part-time/Hourly, Non-Exempt
ISE seeks a passionate, innovative and driven Legal Intern in their downtown Chicago, IL office to assist a team of agents and attorneys in various matters involving client representation and legal issues throughout the season.
Responsibilities:
- Support baseball agents in day-to-day activities involving the representation of current and future client base
- Assist with agency legal/contractual matters throughout the season
- Assist in various projects related to salary arbitration, recruiting and statistical research
- General administrative duties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge and strong interest in baseball (i.e., players, transactions, contracts, salary arbitration, statistics, advanced metrics)
- Superior leadership, writing, research, presentation and project management skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to research using databases and internet
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Extremely organized with an acute attention to detail
- Skilled communicator able to articulate complex ideas and business issues verbally and in writing
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Eligibility:
- Law student or recent law school graduate (within one year) with strong academic performance
- Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Chicago, IL metro area
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
