Job Overview
Oil-Dri Corporation of America (the “Company”) is a leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing sorbent products. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join our in-house legal team. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of legal tasks and projects, providing support to our attorneys, business teams, and support functions. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance within an in-house corporate setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and filing of Securities and Exchange Commission forms.
- Review Company press releases and newsletters and other marketing materials.
- Review and provide suggested revisions to corporate policies and procedures.
- Assist with various active ESG initiatives and attend ESG team meetings.
- Assist with long-term legal integration tasks
- Assist with corporate governance related tasks.
- Review, help draft, and work with business partners to prepare commercial agreements
- Assist with IP related tasks.
- Other duties as assigned by members of the legal team.
Education
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited law school and have completed at least one academic year towards their law degree.
- Strong academic record demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of legal principles and theories.
- Relevant coursework in areas such as corporate law, contract law, and legal research.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in corporate law and in-house legal practice.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hybrid work environment: Monday - Wednesday (onsite) / Thursday - Friday (remote)
- Hourly rate: $17-22
