Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Law Clerk (2L-3L) to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in various legal tasks, including conducting legal research, drafting documents, and reviewing records. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in the legal field while contributing to meaningful work. The starting hourly wage ranges from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, with a weekly commitment up to 20 hours.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
- Draft legal documents, including memos, motions, and briefs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
- Review and analyze documents for relevance and compliance with applicable laws.
- Assist in preparing case files and materials for court proceedings or client meetings.
- Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy and provide support during trials or hearings.
- Maintain organized records of all research findings and documentation for easy access by the legal team.
Qualifications:
- Completion of at least one year in an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school
- Possession of a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale from an (ABA) accredited Law School is required.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- Proficient in conducting thorough legal research and document review.
- Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of work.
- Knowledge of healthcare law is a plus
Work Schedule:
· Part-time; Monday through Friday, up to 20 hours per week
