Law Clerk
Patino & Associates, P.A. is now accepting applications from current law students interested in a law clerk position with us. We are looking for bright, hard working law students who are committed to, or interested in, learning more about litigation.
Law Clerks at Patino & Associates, P.A. will have the opportunity to gain experience in various practice areas including wrongful death, personal injury, premises liability, product liability, breach of contract (Plaintiff & Defense), and more. Law clerks will gain real world work experience in a litigation law firm by:
- Assisting paralegals and attorneys with client intakes and prelitigation requests.
- Corresponding with clients, medical providers, adjusters and insurance companies.
- Conducting legal research and writing.
- Drafting demand letters and court filings (i.e., complaints, motions, discovery).
- Preparing medical chronologies and deposition summaries.
- Attending depositions, hearings, mediations and trials with attorneys.
- Other miscellaneous legal tasks related to litigation.
Qualifications:
- 2Ls or 3Ls with legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and learn quickly.
- Positive attitude and eager to learn.
*Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Job Type: Part-time available. Work schedule will depend upon law clerk's class schedule.
Pay: Starting at $15.50/hour (commensurate with skills and/or qualifications)
