DUTIES

Follows the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the state and complies with all requirements of the law office’s professional liability insurer.
Gathers information from clients or from others on client’s behalf under the direction of an attorney.
Prepares legal drafts by assembling and organizing information for legal forms and documents, including complaints, declarations, discovery requests, responses, and other pleadings.
Performs legal research as delegated by an attorney using all available resources including libraries and computer data systems.
Assembles case materials by collecting, organizing, and summarizing information, documents, reports, and evidence.
Maintains calendar by entering and updating requirements, court dates, and meetings.

Any and all other duties as may be required of the job.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of the law and legal procedures at a level normally acquired through a minimum of two years of law school.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing substantive legal functions.
Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and follow the instruction effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate by phone and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
Work requires a high level of mental effort and strain when answering a high volume of requests for information and performing other essential duties.
