Case Clerk (Entry-Level) – San Francisco or Los Angeles Office
We are seeking an entry-level Case Clerk to join the Paralegal team at an Amlaw-ranked law firm in either San Francisco or Los Angeles. Under the supervision of Associates and Paralegals, the Case Clerk will support various litigation matters and contribute to ensuring smooth office operations and effective case management. This position involves regular communication with clients and conducting necessary case research to support legal proceedings.
- This is a full-time, onsite position with a 5-day in-office requirement for the first year.
- The starting salary is $60,000 annually+ overtime.
- We are seeking candidates who are committed to the role for at least 2 years, with an interest in potentially pursuing law school in the future.
- No prior post-graduate work experience is required, but a demonstrated interest in legal research or related fields is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in document reviews and productions, including indexing boxes, bates-labeling, and quality checking.
- Manage case files, including document productions, pleadings, correspondence files, deposition transcripts, and exhibits. Ensure files are organized, maintained, and easily accessible.
- Maintain and update file indexes.
- Retrieve documents (dockets, pleadings) from courts and agencies.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including exhibits and filings.
- Prepare and maintain document binders, witness preparation binders, and topic binders.
- Conduct database searches (e.g., Ringtail, Concordance) to retrieve documents requested by lawyers.
- Prepare deposition summaries and conduct searches in deposition transcripts.
- Conduct legal research using Lexis and Westlaw.
- Assist with cite-checking projects.
- Assist in the preparation of trial materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Firm management.
- Uphold the firm’s high standards of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity with respect to sensitive and confidential client and firm information.
Qualifications:
- Ability to commit to a two-year role.
- 4-year degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- Prior law firm experience or a paralegal certificate is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong service orientation and an understanding of the importance of developing effective working relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products.
- Must be available for travel as needed.
- Must be available for overtime as required.
