ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Under the direct supervision of the SVP - General Counsel & Chief Risk Officer, the Legal Intern will provide legal support reviewing and drafting contracts, performing discreet legal-related projects, and overall assisting the GC respond to all levels of organizational legal and compliance issues.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Draft, review and edit contracts providing analysis and comments to GC
- Draft confidentiality agreements
- Perform discreet projects as requested by GC
- Maintain awareness of applicable regulatory publications, such as bulletins, proposed & final rules, etc., review, and provide executive summary to GC
- Assist GC with banking compliance related inquiries from internal staff and regulators
- Assist GC with legal research
- Proof documents and submit to GC for review
- Observe and participate in staff and business line meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Years of Experience: Completed at least one year and currently enrolled at an accredited law school
- Experience/Skills/Knowledge: This position requires legal drafting and writing skills, attention to detail, and strong research skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in contracts and/or strong in contracts-related classes; Rising 2L preferred.
- Specific software needed for the position: Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook as well as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
- Experience that we do not yet have on the team, but would be a value added, etc.: Self-starter.
