Job Description
The Legal Intern will assist with legal research and writing, filings and corporate record keeping, and may also assist legal department in public policy advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and maintaining corporate records, maintaining corporate minute books, assisting in drafting corporate minute meetings;
- Assisting in the review of due diligence materials for mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions;
- Drafting supporting documentation for legal transactions;
- Assisting in drafting of pleadings, briefs, demand letters, and other legal correspondence;
- Researching legal questions and drafting legal memoranda;
- Researching and drafting policy advocacy documents;
- Researching and drafting materials for public education;
- Assisting legal team members in company-wide initiatives (sustainability, knowledge management, etc); and general legal research and compiling of legal information
Requirements
- Excellent research, writing, analytical and communication skills;
- The highest levels of initiative, creativity, and good judgment;
- Well-organized, self-directed and able to complete multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner;
