Our Legal Department seeks a motivated and conscientious intern with an interest in gaining exposure to the legal and regulatory landscape of the insurance industry and the day-to-day operations of an in-house corporate legal team. The position offers hands-on experience to a wide range of matters involving corporate governance, operational excellence, intellectual property, data protection and privacy, and litigation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis as needed into various corporate and legal issues aimed at promoting compliance with applicable laws, industry standards, and company policy.
- Assist with the drafting and preparation of vendor and marketing contracts.
- Facilitate organization and maintenance of corporate records and document retention system.
- Update regulatory compliance guides aimed at fostering adherence to governing regulatory requirements.
- Review advertisements and marketing materials for compliance with applicable standards.
Qualifications and Education
- Current enrollment in an accredited Juris Doctorate (JD) program.
- Must be able to commit to 20 hours per week in office at 581 Main Street, Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
