Position Summary
This is a part-time law clerk intern with GOLDLAW that will provide essential support to attorneys specializing in Personal Injury. This role involves legal research, drafting of documents, trail preparations and assisting with mediation and depositions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Tort Law, research, writing and the ability to contribute effectively to case preparation and client interaction.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed legal research on Tort law cases, statutes, and regulations. Use legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis to support case development and strategy.
- Tort I Class would be helpful but not required.
- Responsibilities will include assisting with mediation presentations, trial prep and attending hearings and/or depositions.
- Prepare and draft legal documents related to tort cases, including memos, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence. Ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Assist in the preparation of cases by reviewing evidence, summarizing depositions, and organizing case files. Help develops legal arguments and strategies tailored to personal injury law.
- Support attorneys during mediation sessions by preparing relevant documents, organizing case materials, and providing strategic input.
- Contribute to trial preparations by drafting trial briefs, preparing exhibits, and organizing witness lists. Assis in preparing for the attending trial proceedings.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings. Take detained notes summarize proceedings and provide support as needed. Communicate with clients witnesses and experts to gather information and provide case updates, Maintain professional and confidential relationships and clients.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing documents with the court, scheduling meetings and maintaining cases calendar. Ensure all deadlines are met and case files are well organized.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.): Degree from an accredited law school or current law student with one to 2 years. Or
- 2L - 3L Law student for legal research and writing.
- The position is part time, 20-25 hours and reports to our Director of Litigation.
- Tort I Class would be helpful but not required.

- Previous experience in personal injury law or litigation preferred.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
