UFG’s internship program is an ten-week opportunity to complete projects you’re proud of, network with insurance industry professionals, build strong networks/relationships to continue on after the internship is over.

As a Legal Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with litigated matters, negotiating contract language, regulatory and compliance topics, and have meaningful input on making changes implementing real-time liability mitigation strategies while networking with all areas of senior corporate management.

Here's what to expect:

Legal research (50-state surveys of developing issues, docket searches)
Review contracts (leases, third party vendors) & assist with vendor due diligence
Assist with document production for litigation and subpoena responses
Gain exposure to UFG's Leadership team through various networking events, including participation in the Build Your Own Network Program.
Participate in a variety of development and social activities with interns from other business units.

Here's what it takes:

Current law school student, minimum second year, preferably
Proficient with Westlaw
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Class ranking in upper 25%
Knowledge of and proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe, etc.
Excellent verbal and written skills
Excellent analytical skills
Attention to detail
