Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary (Long-Term Contract)

Location: Hybrid (Primarily Remote, occasional in-office days required - Brookfield Place, NY 10281)

Duration: 6-9 Months (or Longer)

Pay: $30.00 per hour

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to join our team for a long-term contract opportunity. This role offers the flexibility of primarily remote work, with occasional in-office days at our Brookfield Place location in New York City. You will play a crucial role in supporting our arbitration processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing arbitrator applications and updates.

Responsibilities:

Arbitrator Application Management:Analyze, process, and apply lengthy Arbitrator Applications and complex Arbitrator Updates.
Ensure arbitrator profiles are accurate and complete.
Communicate directly with arbitrators to obtain and clarify necessary information, particularly regarding disclosures.
Disclosure Management:Ensure arbitrators’ disclosures are added correctly and efficiently.
Communicate arbitrator disclosure changes to relevant parties on assigned cases.
Rule Application:Learn and apply arbitrator classification and disqualification rules.
Administrative Support:Prioritize and manage workload effectively.
Handle routine matters independently and complex matters under close supervision.
Exercise critical and independent judgment in executing all functions.
Maintain meticulous tracking of all assignments and tasks to ensure completion.
Communication:Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with arbitrators, parties, and internal teams.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Proven ability to handle complex administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment.
Proficiency in standard office software and systems.
