Chartwell Law’s New York City office seeks an enthusiastic 2nd year law student who wants to gain valuable and practical legal experience in a dynamic insurance defense and insurance coverage law firm environment. As the position primarily involves conducting legal research, preparing memoranda of the research, drafting motions, and providing support to firm’s attorneys, excellent research and writing skills are a must. Candidates must be detail oriented and good at identifying viable arguments. This is an excellent opportunity for a J.D. candidate hoping to gain hands-on expertise in a highly specialized field where attorneys are always in strong demand.

The Summer Associate position is a full-time, in-person (not remote optional) paid position in the New York City office.

Responsibilities: Perform legal research utilizing electronic sources
Assist attorneys in drafting of briefs and motions
Prepare research memoranda, draft pleadings, discovery and motions
Help attorneys prepare for depositions and trials
Analyze deposition transcripts and prepare summaries

Qualifications:

Completion of two years of law school.

$25/HR
